Lake Allatoona Fishing
Report
LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 20.7 FEET, 55 DEGREES AND CLEAR
This bass report is provided by Mike Bucca of Triton Mike’s Spot Country
Guide Service
We are officially down to ONE ramp on Allatoona and that is the LEFT ramp at
Blockhouse. Just be very careful, it's a slalom course from Blockhouse to
the Dam area. Lots of humps out in the middle and wave barriers making some
very tricky bottle necks right around Allatoona landing. Launching on
weekends is going to be tricky! Bass fishing is good. I've been going for
the big fish for the most part and have been striking out. When you actually
concentrate on the deep spoon fish they are definitely there but best right
at first light. Concentrate your efforts around the mouths of creeks to
about halfway back. I am alternating between a 3/4 and a 1 oz custom spoon
similar to a flex it type spoon. Lots of hybrids and stripes in the mix with
the spots. Also the crank bait bite is trying to pick up speed. It's also
best at first light and both of these bites will get stronger and stronger
as the temps continue to drop. Just a note I will have my boat on a wet slip
and will be offering guide trips all year long. Also come join us on
www.allatoonabass.com for the latest happenings on Allatoona and fishing
information.

Line side fishing is good and the lake is looking good. Clear water and no
smell and very few air pockets. This means the end of the turn over. And
time to get back on the water. I’m starting to boat good numbers of fish.
With most of them being hybrid and spots. With a few nice stripers mixed in.
Live bait is working good on Flat lines, Free lines, and planner boards. The
best times for this is early morning and late afternoon. During mid-day find
a point set up over a 30-40 foot bottom and down line. Most of the fish I
caught this week came at 30 feet deep. I have seen a few Sea Gulls this
week. (Or as I like to call them little white Lowrance’s.) Which tells me by
the first of next month the lake will be cover with them. If it holds true
like last year this will be the best way to find feeding fish. The top water
bite is getting better . And seems to be best right at dark. A Jr. Fluke on
a popping cork is best. Trollers your bite is good and may be the best bite
on the lake right now. And the Mack Farr u-rig is working well right in the
middle of the river channel. The next party boat trip is on Nov 15. so book
your spot fast. These trip fill up fast. These trips are from 7am - 11am
these are 4 hour trips. The cost of these trips are $100 per person and we
only take 4 people out at a time. This is a great way to meet new people...
I don’t think I could think of a better way to spend my Saturday. SPECIAL
NOTE. Just because the lake levels are falling don’t think you can’t load
the boat with fish. The best fishing every year is when the lake is at it
lowest. Remember with less water this also means less boats and less fishing
pressure. I look for the lake record striper to be caught this year. And I
truly believe it will be caught by one of my clients. First Bite Guide
Service has it's boats wet slip on Allatoona. Even if all the ramps close.
We will be open all winter. Please call and book your trip today. And
remember fishing Trips make a GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT.
