Lake Russell Fishing Report

LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 2.8 FEET, CLEAR & 49 DEGREES BY RAPALA PRO STAFFER TIM WHITE



Bass fishing slow. Surface temperatures should continue to slowly drop as both the days and nights take a turn to the more traditional temperatures for this time of the year. A few anglers caught their limit of Bass last week, mostly Spots, and they were mostly small in size. It is still only taking 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 pounds of fish to win most of the club tournaments. Last week anglers were fishing the humps and submerged road beds with jigging spoons and jigs. A few of the smaller spots were caught up in the shallow water, but the better bass are found in water ten feet and deeper. The bigger bass that have been in 35 foot of water will start moving up by the first of next week. Try using a DT16 in silver or parrot color and fish the tops of submerged cover. Use buoy markers to mark the fish then make a long cast past the markers and use a slow to moderate retrieve. Ask for a sample of the work book, "Bass Fishing Lake Russell” on our web site.
