X-Tools Grip 'N Weigh Pro Series Scale

   Description: The X-Tools Grip 'N Weigh Digital Pro Series Scale is an innovative tournament-quality scale. The colorful design makes the Pro Series Scale easy to find in the boat, and it's floating capabilities are very helpful if it is dropped overboard! There are two models available: The Grip 'N Weigh Digital Fish Scale and the Grip 'N Weigh Pro Series Scale. Used in this review was the Pro Series Scale, which comes complete with a culling system. The culling system consists of seven small buoys which are attached to the lips of bass before placing in the livewell (pictured on left).

   Review: It can honestly be said that the Pro Series is the single most innovative scale on the market. Obviously designed with the serious tournament competitor in mind, this system contains: two weighing systems (pounds and kilograms), digital weight storage of up to 15 fish, cull mode, fish gripper, and waterproof housing. It is also floats, is lightweight and highly visible.

   To use, simply attach a fish to the gripper at the bottom of the scale and hold steady until the digital weight appears in pounds and ounces or kilograms, whichever you prefer. During testing, thrashing 6-pound bass could not escape the gripper.

   The culling system is extremely innovative - simply set the scale to the limit amount you desire (such as 5) and start fishing. Once you've weighed 6 fish, the scale will automatically tell you how much your 5-fish limit weighs and which fish in the livewell needs to be released. With the Pro Series with it's Culling System, it is easy to cull as each fish is labeled with the marker buoys. They are also easy to catch in the livewell!

   Innovation and fisherman-friendly features define this product. X-Tools has done an excellent job of putting together top-notch scales for serious fishermen. Go get one!

   The Breakdown:

    Bass caught: N/A

   Innovation: The Pro Series scale gets an astoundingly high 4.5 rating for innovation. There is not another scale on the market with as many useful features as what the Grip 'N Weigh scale contains.

   Strength: These scales are tough, practically unbreakable, and work well under extreme conditions. The highest score possible, 5.0, is well deserved.

   Overall: 4.75. We were very impressed with these products during our 3-month testing period. They are extremely innovative, very strong, and very accurate.

   Where to purchase: Academy Sports and Outdoors sells the Digital Fish Scale, but not the Pro Series Scales. www.xtools.us is the best place to purchase your Grip 'N Weigh scale. The Pro Series Scale and Culling System retails for $129.99 apiece, while the scale alone costs $89.99.
