The Jacobs Cup
The Jacobs Cup. One of the highest paying tournaments in the world of
competitive bass fishing is nearly here. Of course, everyone wants to know
who has a good chance at taking home the $500,000. If you view the FLW
virtual championship on the FLW Outdoors
website, then you can
see exactly who everyone thinks will win. Otherwise, read on.
This is the tournament for the FLW pros. Not even the Opens pay this much.
With the bracket format, every pro has to beat 13 competitors to win. Some
pros, like Dan Morehead, have been doing that well all season. However, you
can count on the competition getting tough as the tournament goes on.
There have been some dominating performances
this season, such as by Steve Kennedy on
Kentucky Lake when he won by over 10 pounds, and Paul Elias on the
Atchafalaya Basin. Pat Fisher did the same on Lake Okeechobee. However, the
most dominating player in the field so far this year has undeniably been Dan
Morehead. He has done very well this season, which included winning the
Beaver Lake event and the 2003 AOY award. Even back in June, when
interviewed by UltimateBassin.com, Morehead admitted that the Jacobs Cup was
his goal. Stay tuned to UltimateBassin.com during the Jacobs
Cup for quick reports as to who is leading. Also, the current weather
at the Jacobs Cup is available on the home page. If you want to view FLW
